If you are using joomla to build an e-commerce site, VirtueMart is the perfect choice for the shopping cart as it is fully customizable as it is an open source extension. It performs well, even at big websites with 20k+ product listings. It has a good community too, in times you may stumble on problems.

If your site is too much of a corporate and you are ashamed to show that your product listing is powered by VirtueMart, you don’t need hardcoding to disable the VM logo in the footer credit. Just go to VM admin -> Configure -> Site -> Uncheck “show footer” box. It’s that easy.

In my part, I admire VM as being to lenient on their terms, especially on putting site credits . With this, VirtueMart is one of the real open source softwares out there.
